Abstract

In the late 1930's the Cyprus Turkish society was struggling to remain alive on the island with myriad of distress and problems. The distress the Cypriot Turks suffered and their solutions were reported in great detail in a report prepared by the Cyprus Consulate of Turkiye in 1938. Both the opressions of English management and Cypriot Greeks on the national identity of Cypriot Turks, the economical situation of the Cypriot Turks, and the enforcements on them to leave the island and what could be done to solve those problems were stated in that report. In this regard, the report mentioned above is significant with respect to understanding the oppressions suffered by the Cypriot Turks.
