Abstract
Match was among the items taken under monopoly due to the economic conditions in the first years of the Republic of Turkey. The match in Turkey was monopolized with the 1924 Budget Law to provide new sources of income for the budget. In this study, match monopoly, which is among the monopoly practices adopted as a requirement of the economic conditions of the first years of the Republic, was tried to be examined and evaluated based on the official sources of the state and the press of the period. Although there were some problems in practice, new revenue streams for the budget were created and the match industry in the country was established with the match monopoly, which seems to have developed in a three-stage process as Turkey Match Monopoly Turkish Incorporated Company, Match Monopoly Business Administration, Di American Turkish Investment Corporation Company.
