Atatürk and Nationalism

Abstract

Nationalism is one of the main principles of the Kemalist system of thought, inseparable from the other principles of Atatürk, The national struggle was won based on Turkish nationalism and the determination of the Turkish nation to live independently. The Constitutions of the Republic of Turkey, founded by Atatürk and entrusted to the younger generations, gave an important place to nationalism. During the additions to the 1924 Constitution in 1937, nationalism, along with other principles, was recognized as one of the fundamental principles of the state . In other constitutions of the Republican period, nationalism was a fundamental principle.
