Abstract

Ismet Inönü has gone down in history as a skilled soldier, a successful commander of battlefields and a great statesman. He started his life as a soldier, served in almost all of the wars in our recent history, and these duties raised him in military service, dispatch and administration. As an officer and commander, he had accomplished missions in Yemen, the Balkan War, The First World War and had the best track record that could be given to a corps commander from the 2nd Army commander Mustafa Kemal Pasha (Atatürk). Mustafa Kemal Pasha sensed at that time what duties and services Colonel Ismet Bey would be successful with a very close friendship and a realist gaze extending to the future. During the life and death days of the national struggle, Ismet Pasha was given the greatest military duties and then the Supreme state duties. Colonel Ismet Bey, who supported the Turkish struggle for independence from Istanbul for a while, first came to Ankara on leave, then for good, and participated in the opening preparations of the Grand National Assembly. He served in Parliament as a deputy to Edime and in the government as chief of Staff. He won the battles of Inönü as the commander of the front line and was congratulated and appreciated by the president of the Grand National Assembly with a memorable and masterpiece of Military Literature. The winning of these battles proved how determined the Turkish nation was to defend its existence. He also defeated the"makus fortune of the nation " with these battles.
