Abstract

İzmir Müdafaa-i Hukuk-ı Osmaniye Cemlığı (İMHOC), which was the first of the Mudafaa-i Hukuk Societies founded after the Mondros Armistice, has been engaged in local activities and chosen as a legitimate basis for the 14-item Peace Principles put forward by Wilson. It was ¬. As it is known, the President of the United States, Woodrow Wilson, announced the 14-point principles on the 8th of January, 1918, as the basic principles of peace that will end the First World War. These were related to Turkey and was called directly from Article 12 as follows. "The Turkish parts of the Ottoman Empire will be dominated, but non-Turkish nationalities will be given muhtar development opportunities. The Dardanelles Strait will be continuously open to ships of all nations and this will be under international guarantee. " In congresses and publications of Müdafaa-i Hukuk Societies, we see that this article is referred to from time to time.
