Abstract
In this study, you will read the insight into the story of 1919 and 1920, Mustafa Kemal Pasha's resistance to organize the War of Independence in Anatolia despite the ambivalent policy of İstanbul Government through the headlines of Vakit and Asım Us' pen. By conveying the knowledge he gained during the years of the School of Political Science to his articles, Asım Us tried to reveal the justification and legal dimension of the War of Independence in his newspaper he devoted his life to. While explaining this situation, he based his articles on statistical data showing the demographic structure of İzmir and Thrace. He has always stated that the Turkish population is more than the Greek population, and even demanded in his articles an impartial commission to conduct a research on this subject. In this study, you will witness the Anafartalar hero Mustafa Kemal, İsmet (İnönü) and Fevzi Çakmak Pasha being introduced as the leaders of the National Struggle. The main purpose of this study is to shed light on the years 1919-1920 with the information provided by the native and foreign observers, those year's press and archive documents and to eliminate the deficiency in the literature. In addition, the unjust occupation of İzmir by the Greeks, the process leading to Sevres, and the unfair practices only against the Ottoman State- except for the other defeated states (Bulgaria, Austria, Hungary and Germany)- were examined in this study.
There is no study that would require Ethical Commitee approval in this article.
