Abstract
The great Turkist and intellectual, Ziya Gökalp, was trying to complete his work titled "History of Turkish Civilization", which he was preparing for a while. He was tired. Moreover, he had been receiving treatment for eight months in a house in Istanbul-Nişantaş and then in Büyükada, where he was moved on the advice of doctors. He complained of his stomach, kidney pain, and when his pain gradually increased, he had difficulty talking. He was taken to the French Hospital in Beyoğlu on October 14, 1924 with the advice and insistence of his doctor Âkil Muhtar (Özden).
