Atatürk and the Assembly

Abstract

This modest examination of the relations between Atatürk and the Parliament (especially the first Parliament) does not bear the claim of writing history and putting forward provisions in the measure of history. However, the document, which may be useful in writing the objective history of this really great and epoch-opening period, covers the views I have gained from the documents of that period, especially the minutes of the open and secret sessions of Parliament and my personal impressions of an observer who has experienced the life and impressions of that period, recognized their principal authorities and collaborated with some.
