Abstract

The Denizli Incident, which took place at the beginning of July 1920 during the Kuvay-ı Milliye period, not only gave difficult times to the administrators and people of that day, but also made its effects on the local people in the later periods. When evaluated in general, today the tendency of Denizli people to be shown as the real responsible of the Denizli Event, especially by the people of the South Aegean, is dominant. In interviews with some people from Denizli, I saw that they held Demirci Mehmet Efe responsible for the events. No one or any local community has the right and authority to make him look more patriotic than others. Since history is neither more nor less, it is a science, I wanted to remind the people of the experiences of the past and approach the events on a larger scale, by basing the events that have actually happened but their effects against time have been based on documents. Since history has been the subject of every area that belongs to humanity, including human psychology, I wanted to present its attitude to contemporary people in the face of social events.
