Abstract

Atatürk has a very special place in Turkish History. This feature is versatile. Those that come to mind immediately; saving the last independent Turkish State from extinction, creating a young homogeneous national state from an outdated empire that has disintegrated; changing the social and cultural structure with medieval theories, creating a modern society driven by contemporary values. What is the place of Çanakkale on the road to these services, each of which will be enough to eternize a person? In this communiqué, the subject of the place of Çanakkale and Gallipoli Peninsula in the military career of Atatürk will be emphasized in proportion to the time permitted. First of all, it should be noted that. Just as Atatürk has a very special place in Turkish History, Çanakkale's strategic location has important effects that will constitute a turning point in the career of the great leader. It is necessary to examine this issue in three separate phases: 1912-1913 Balkan Wars, 1915 Çanakkale Wars, and 1922 Çanakkale Crisis. However, in order to explain the first phase in question, it would be useful to briefly mention M. Kemal Atatürk's position in the Union and Progress and his relations with Unionist leaders.
