Abstract

After the armistice of Moudros, the Italian Earl Sforza who was ap- pointed as High Commissioner of İstanbul, negotiated with a lot of Turkish intellectuals in this frame, he also talked a few times to M. Kemal Pasha who was known as "the Hero of Dardanelles" in Italian public opinion. Since the approaches and intentions of the two sides were different, there was no concrete solution in the end of these negotiations. However, the ground of the Turkish - Italian friendship during the Turkish National Struggle for Independence was formed with these negotiations in İstanbul
