Abstract

It is known that laıcism has been influencing Turkish intellectuals as from the 19th centruy. S o this article examines laıcism ide a of Yusuf Akçura, who has got an important place and position in the Türkish idea lifetime. On the other hand, Yusuf Akçura is known as one of important touchstones of Turkish nationalism. Thİs point arises the importance of this article. This is because this article partly explores Turkish nationalist' religİon and laicism appraoches in Turkey. Therefore, this article firstly shows Yusuf Akçura's appraoch of İslam Religion and the place of the relİgion İslam in his life in order to understand the laicism idea of Yusuf Akçura, and secondly explains his laicism understanding.
