Abstract

The Sultanate of Fur which had been ruling the west part of Sudan which called Darfur, from the 17tfl century up to the 19th century, continued again by Sultan Ali Dinar who was the last Sultans that belong to this dynasty, Darfur Sultanate was the only one of its kind that survival related to the Ottomans in the middle of Africa. Although Sudan had been under the British colony since 1897, Ali Dinar had managed to keep his Sultanate independent for 18 years during vvhich Ali Dinar was not only consider as a Sudanese national leader but also an African leader who fought against the imperialist power in Africa. Here the article is dealt with how Sultan Ali Dinar who consider his Sultanate as a part of the Ottoman State had been trying to keep Darfur save from the imperialist powers and his war against the British supporting the Ottomans during the First World War.
