Abstract

Yusuf Akçura whose name is frequently heard in the period of last century was among the founders of Turkish Republic and took part in TBMM (Grand National Assembly of Turkey). It is necessary to evaluate his role in the military and diplomatic process of National Struggle, in the process of establishing Turkish History Instution and being principal of this instution. Some important documents aboute his duty from the archive or Presidency, General Staff ATASE (Military History and Strategic Etude) Presidency contribute to his biography. It can be stated that some important people like Halide Edip and Yakup Kadri participated in the struggle owing to contribution of Yusuf Akçura. İt is known that Mustafa Kemal Pasha gave importance to the education during the war, tried to apply economical development program after the Great Offensive and he charged Yusuf Akçura about this subject three months before İzmir Economics Congress.
