Diplomatic Missions and Representatives of Turkey in the Year From 1923 to 1950

Abstract
This article is a study on diplomatic missions and representatives of Turkey in the years from 1923 to 1950. The total number of Ottoman diplomatic missions, embassies and legations, was 18. In the Republican period, from 1923 to 1950, the total number of Turkish diplomatic missions increased to 37. The first part of the article gives a panoramic view of Turkish missions in 37 countries. It presents chronological and alphabetical lists of all Turkish diplomatic missions and representatives, ambassadors, ministers and chargé d'affairs.
In the second part of the article, seven Turkish diplomats are studied: Muhittin Akyüz (1869-1940); Mehmet Ali Şevki Alhan (1883-1947), Mehmet Kâzım Dirik (1881-1941), Kemalettin Sami (1884-1934), Ali Fethi Okyar (1880-1943), Dr. İbrahim Tali Öngören (1871-1952) and Ahmet Ferit Tek (1878-1971).
