Abstract

Following the sign of Mondros Truce, important struggles occurred in political and nıilitary areas against the handing över East Thrace to Greece, the last territories of Ottoman State İn Europe. The attitude of Tekirdağ governor in that way made the comnıander of 55 hesitant. As a result, on 20 July 3920, the troops İn Tekirdağ could not resist the commencing Greece attacks, the army dispersed and the defence of the East Thrace fell in a few days, the remaining troops passed to Bulgaria on 25 July 1920 and Edirne remained in the Greece occupation until the end of the National Freedom War. In this study, the period of this struggle until the occupation of Greece in the end of July 1920 is assessed.
