Abstract

Congress of Sivas İs one of the most crucial phases İn the National Struggle Movement. The Government of İstanbul took some precautions to be able to hinder to this Congress that materialized to ünite for all Anatolia. One of these precautions and the most important one is the appointment of Ali Galip Bey to Elazığ. Beforehand Ali Galip Bey's activities and his attempt of occupation of the Congress became known for Mustafa Kemal and they became in vain. Mustafa Kemal Pasha proclaimed this effort, which wants to choke the National Struggle, with all documents to the Society of Defence and Jurisprudence İn Anatolia and tries to show them the true face of İstanbul Government. Thereupon, the people, everywhere of the country sent telegrams to İstanbul and they protested the Government of Damat Ferit Pasha. Due to this pressure, the Government of Damat Ferit resigned.
