Abstract

Greece faced some crucial difficulties in World War II, especially after German occupation. Greece, who normally had to import most of its food necessities, could not realize its initiative due to this occupation. Furthermore, adverse winter conditions and decreasing agricultural activities in Greece brought about a very significant problem called "The Great Famine". Turkey was one of the first countries that helped Greece. Particularly the Red Crescent dispatched foodstuff and sanitary products at that time. Besides, the Red Crescent, some other firms and organizations played an important role in assisting Greece. Turkey supported Greece from the beginning of the Great Famine and its assistance continued until the end of the war
