Abstract

Followİng the Mondros Truce, Mehmet Akif realized that what is left behind as a Müslim Turkish land has falling into a great danger. So, while in İstanbul and after that in Anatolia, he carried on at most effort to save the country from all forms of colonization and bondage. With bearing these facts in mind, and along the wishes of Mustafa Kemal Pasha, Mehmet Akif began his efforts of enlightening the public in many provinces of Anatolia through religions sermons. In his sermons he wanted the public to be aware of the enemies provocations, not to fail in disarray, and in order to be successful they need to be united, Even in his spear time Mehmet Akif stili kept his efforts going, when he was elected as a deputy for the province of Burdur, he contributed to the works of the first parliament. Through his articles and poetry that he published in Sebilürresad newspaper to which he was the editör, Mehmet Akif contributed a great deal for the national struggle.
