Abstract
The Greek invasion that started in Izmir on May 15, 1919 caused a great migration in Western Anatolia and other occupation areas. Anatolia, which has been accustomed to immigrant groups from Rumelia and various places for years, was beginning to migrate from the west this time. The people, who are aware of the Greek atrocities in İzmir, started to migrate to the nearby districts. With the occupation of Ödemiş, Nazilli and Akhisar, the number of immigrants increased even more. After the invasion of İzmir, İzmir Müdafaa-i Hukuk-i Osmaniye Society, which transferred its headquarters to Istanbul, provided intelligence reports to Greek authorities in Western Anatolia.
